Misdemeanors.

Misdemeanor cases in Kentucky are handled in District Court and all carry 12 months or less imprisonment. Violations are also handled in District Court and all violations carry no more than a fine. Common misdemeanors and violations include theft by deception (cold checks) theft by unlawful taking under $500 (shoplifting; common theft) assault fourth degree, menacing, harassment, public intoxication (PI), alcohol intoxication (AI), minor in possession, violation of emergency protective order (EPO)/domestic violence order (DVO), indecent exposure.
In Kentucky, misdemeanors fall in one of two categories: A or B. "A" misdemeanors carry up to 12 months imprisonment. "B" misdemeanors carry up to 90 days imprisonment. Violations carry up to a $100 fine.
